Reverend Sarah’s passion for ministry started in 1999 when she became a spiritual life coach. She found Unity in 2006 and became a licensed Unity teacher in 2016. Becoming a Unity minister was a natural evolution of her journey. She was ordained in 2020. She has served as the spiritual leader for the Unity congregations in Frederick, Maryland, and Fredericksburg, Virginia. She holds the office of treasurer on the Board of Trustees of Unity’s Eastern Region.
Her personal practice includes meditation, Tantra, Qi Gong, working out at the gym, and ensuring balance between connecting with others and alone time. Her passion for being a purposeful creator flows in all areas of her life. She creates art, safe space, and, most importantly, her own life experience. Her mission in life and in ministry is to help others create the life they want to live.
Linda found her spiritual home at Unity by the Bay in the early 1990s. Since then, she has served our spiritual community as prayer chaplain, usher, and secretary and president of the Board of Trustees. Her dedication to the well-being and growth of UBB is founded on the joy she felt when she discovered our affirming spiritual community and the joy she witnesses when new people find their way to us. Linda is a retired medical copyeditor and an enthusiastic French horn player. She and her partner, Jo Deaton, live in Oyster Harbor.
Tink has attended Unity Church of Christianity since she was a child growing up in Atlanta, Georgia. She regularly attended other Unity churches wherever she lived including Florida, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. She began attending Unity by the Bay several years ago and became a Board member in February 2021. She thoroughly enjoys the fellowship in this spiritual community.
Yvonne joined the board in 2022 and serves as our Treasurer. She works as a computer programmer for an international engineering firm. Her knowledge of technology is well used on our AV team. Yvonne moved to Annapolis from Pennsylvania in 2019 and started attending UBB services soon after.
Linda found the inner peace she sought in a spiritual home at Unity by the Bay in 2016. She’s participated in many of the classes and trainings offered at Unity. God nudged her to serve in a more intentional way, and she currently serves the spiritual community as secretary of the Board of Trustees.
Linda retired in 2020 from a career in rehabilitation. She is a certified Spiritual Life Coach, volunteer REIKI Master, and enjoys meditation and intuitive training. She is a recent widow, devoted friend, mother, and Mema to her one year old granddaughter, Evelyn.
The Unity teachings enrich her spiritual journey and assist her to be useful in her family, the church, and the community. God blessed her with the gift of a servant heart, and she knows it is her responsibility to remain vigilant and intentional in serving others.
Carol Hawtin has been a member of UBB for a long time. She currently serves as a prayer chaplain and an usher and recently became a board member. She is a lifetime Marylander, with the exception of 7 years in D.C. and college in Virginia. Since moving to Annapolis, Carol has worked at the Naval Academy in human resources and as a clinical social worker in private practice.
Carol is called the Bird Lady…perhaps indicating that she has a bird brain…but more likely because she has had a bird in her life since childhood. She does not have children; her birds are her children. Keller, a Quaker parrot, lives with her. He is very handsome.
Carol loves UBB. She has chosen it as the spiritual center of her life. She would do anything to help it succeed in all areas.
Kelle joined UBB in May 2019 as our Director of Operations. She was born in Vermont, which she still refers to as “home”. Growing up as a military “brat” she traveled extensively, never living anywhere for more than 3½ years. Upon her family’s military retirement, she came to live in Maryland. Annapolis has been her home since 1993. Her interests include travel, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, any outdoor activity, and spending time with family and friends. Her husband, William (Bill) Nelson Sr., and she have a blended family of five wonderful children, 9 outstanding grandchildren, and 3 rescue fur babies.
Lisa McAdams joined Unity by the Bay in July of 2020. It was her dream to combine her passion of accounting with her spirituality practice and Unity by the Bay gives her that perfect combination.
In her spare time she loves going to the beach.
